C33 V59 | why wear a burka / over garment | O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of elievers to let down upon them their over-garments. This is more proper, so that they may be known, and not be given trouble. And Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. |
C33 V58 | sin to backbite / slander believers | And those who malign believing men and believing women undeservedly, they bear the guilt of lsander and manifest sin. |
C33 V57 | those who talk / slander about Muhammad (SAW) and Allah (SWT) | Surely those who malign Allah and His Messenger, Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter, and He has prepared for them a humiliating punishment. |
C33 V56 | saluting the prophet (SAW) after saying / hearing his name | Surely Allah and His angels bless the Prophet. O you who believe, call for blessings on him and salute him with a (becoming) salutation. |
C33 V55 | there is no blame on an individual for something their family / relative does | There is no blame on them in respect of their fathers, nor their sons, nor their brothers, nor their brothers’ sons, nor their sisters’ son, nor their own women, nor of what their right hands possess – and (O you women) keep your duty to Allah. Surely Allah is ever Witness over all things. |
C33 V54 | Allah (SWT) knows everythign you do | If you do a thing openly or do it in secret, then surely Allah is ever KNower of all things. |
C33 V53 | lesson about what to do when invited for food | see long verse: …And it is not fitting for you to give trouble to the Messenger of Allah, nor to marry his wives after him ever. |
C33 V52 | the prophet (SAW) was not allowed to take anymore wives or divorce after this verse | It is not allowed to you to take wives after this, nor to change them for others, though their beauty be pleasing to you, except those whom your right hand (already) possesses. And Allah is ever Watchful over all things. |

C33 V49 | one can get a simple divorce after marriage if they did not touch their wife | O who who believe, when you marry believing women, then divorce them before you touch them, you have in their case no term which you should reckon. But make provision for them and let them go in gracious manner. |
C33 V48 | disregard annoying talk with disbelievers and hypocrites | And do not obey the disbelievers and the ypocrites, and disregard their annoying talk, and rely on Allah. And Allah is sufficient as having charge of affairs. |
C33 V45-47 | why the prophet (SAW) was sent | O Prophet, surely We have sent you as a witness, and a bearer of good news and a warner, and as an inviter to Allah by His permission, and as a light-giving sun. And give the believers the good news that they will have great grace from Allah. |
C33 V41-44 | reward for those who remember Allah (SWT) a lot | O you who believe, remember Allah with much rememberance, and glorify Him morning and evening. He it is who sends blessings on you, and (so do) His angels, that He may bring you forth out of darkness into light. And He is ever Merciful to the believers. Their greeting on the day they meet Him will be, Peace! and He has prepared for them an honorable reward. |
C33 V40 | Muhammad (SAW) is the seal of prophets | Muhammad (SAW) is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the prophets. And Allah is ever Knower of all things. |

C33 V30 | The prophet’s (SAW) had to be great Muslims because they will be mothers of all Muslims | O wives of the Prophet, whoever of you is guilty of manifestly improper conduct, the punishment will be doubled for her. And this is easy for Allah. |
C33 V28-29 | O prophet, say to your wives: If you desire this world’s life and its adornment, come I will give you a provision and allow you to depart in a gracious manner. And if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the abode of the Hereafter, then surely Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a mighty reward. | |

C33 V6 | closeness of prophet (SAW) and his wives are our mothers | The Prophet is closer to the faithful then their own selves, and his wives are their mothers. And the possessors of relationship are closer t one another in the ordinance of Allah then (other) believers, and those who fled (their homes), except that you do some good to your friends. This is written in the Book. |
C33 V5 | sinning by mistake verses with intention | …And there is no blame on you in that about which you make a mistake, but (you are answerable for) what your hearts intend. And Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. |
C33 V3 | trust in Allah (SWT), He is all you need | and trust in Allah, And Allah is enough as having charge (of affairs) |
C32 V27 | water was/is provided to the Children of Israel | Do they not see that We drive the water to a land having no vegetation, then We bring forth with it seed-produce, of which their cattle and they themselves eat. Will they not then see? |
C32 V25-26 | about the Children of Israel who know the truth yet did/do not accept it | Surely your Lord will judge between them on the day of Resurrection in that which they differed. Is it not clear to them, how many of the generations, in whose abodes they go about, We destroyed before them? Surely there are signs in this. Will they not then hear? |
C32 V23-24 | Musa (AS) was given a Book – Allah (SWT) can make leaders | And We indeed gave Moses the Book – so do not doubt the meeting with Him – and We made it a guide for the Children of Israel. And We made from among them leaders to guide by Our command when they were aptient. And they were certain of Our messages. |
C32 V21-22 | transgressor will take punishment in this world | And certainly We will make them taste the nearer punishment before the greater punishment, that perhaps they may turn. And who is more unjust then he who is reminded of the messages of his Lord, then he turns awy from the,? Surely We exact retribution from the guilty. |
C32 V20 | punishment of the transgressor | And as for those who transgress, their refuge is the Fire. Whenever they desire to go forth from it, they are brought back into it, and it is said to them: Taste the punishment of the Fire, which you called a lie. |
C32 V18-19 | a believer is not equal to a transgressor | Is he then, who is a believer, like him who is a transgressor? They are not equal. As for those who believe and do good eeds, for them are Gardens, a refuge – an entertainment for what they did. |
C32 V17 | no one knows what reward is waiting for them in paradise | So no souls knows what joy of the eyes is hidden for them: a reward for what they did. |
C32 V16 | what above average Muslims do | They forsake (their) beds, calling upon their Lord in fear and in hope, and spend (on good works) out of what We have given them. |
C32 V15 | SAJDAH – why one has to perform sajdah | Only they believe in Our messages who, when they are reminded of them, fall down prostrate and celebrate the praise of their Lord, and they are not proud. |
C32 V13-14 | every soul could have been given guidance | And if We had pelased, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me was just; I will certainly fill hell with jinn and people, all together. So taste, because you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours; surely We forsake you; and taste the abiding punishment for what you did. |
C32 V12 | the guilty/disbelievers will want to return to earth | And if only you could see when the guilty hang their heads before their Lord: Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so send us back, we will do good; we are (now) certain. |
C32 V11 | the angel of death causes people to die | Say: The angel of death, who is given charge of you, will cause you to die, then to you Lord you will be returned. |
C32 V7-9 | simple organs/functions to be thankful for (heart=intelect) | Then He made his progeny of an extract, of worthless seeming water. Then He made him complete and breathed into him of His spirit, and gave you ears and eyes and hearts; little thanks you give. |
C32 V6-7 | everything Allah created is beautiful | Such is the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Mighty, the Merciful, Who made beautiful everything that He created, and He began the creation of man from dust. |
C32 V5 | a day that is like a 1000 years | He orders the Affair from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a day the measure of which is a thousand years as you count. |
C32 V4 | everything created in 6 periods | Allah is He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six periods, and He is established on the Throne of Power. You have not besides Him a guardian or an intercessor. ill you not then be mindful? |
C31 V34 | what Allah (SWT) only knows | Surely Allah is He with Whom is the knowledge of the Hour, and He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs. And no one knows what he will earn tomorrow. And no one knows in what land he will die. Surely Allah is Knowing, Aware. |
C31 V33 | do not let the wolds’s life or shaytwan deceive you | O people, keep your duty to your Lord and dread the day when no father can vail his son in the least, nor will the child avail his father. Surely the promise of Allah is true, so do not let this world’s life deceive you, nor let the arch-deceiver deceive you about Allah. |
C31 V29 | sun and moon have a course | Do you not see that Allah makes the night to pass into the day, and He makes the day to pass into the night, and He has made the sun and the moon subservient (to yoi) – each pursues its course till and appointed time – and that Allah is Aware of what you do? |
C31 V22 | firmest handle on life | And whoever submits himself to Allah and does good, he indeed takes hold of the firmest handle. And Allah’s is the end of (all) matters. |
C31 V16-19 | story of Luqman (RA) – advices: mustard seed | see verses |
C31 V15 | when not toobey parents but keep company with them | And if they strive to make you set up partners with Me, of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them, and keep kindly company with them in this world, and follow the way of him who turns to Me; then to Me is your return, then I shall inform you of what you did. |
C31 V14 | give thanks to Allah (SWT) and to your parents for your birth | And We have enjoined on man concerning his parents – his mother bears him with faintings upon faintings and his weaning takes two years – saying: Give thanks to Me and to your parents. To Me is the eventual coming. |
C31 V12-13 | story of Luqman (RA) – do not set up partners with Allah (SWT) | And certain We gave Luqman wisdom, saying: Give thanks to Allah. And whoeve ris thankful, is thankful for the good of his own soul; and whoever denis, then surely Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praised. And when Luqman said to his son, while he instructed him: My son, set up no partner with Allah. Surely setting up partners (with Him) is a grevious wrong. |
C31 V10-11 | what have those besides Allah (SWT) created? | He created the ehavens without pillars that you can see, and cast mountains on the earth in case it should quake with you, and He spread on it animals of every kind. And We send down water from the clouds, then cause to grow in it (vegetation) of every noble kind. This is Allah’s creation; now show Me what those besides Him have created. No, the unjest are in manifest error. |
C31 V6 | about those who profit by discussing Islam in a negative way | And among people is he who takes, instead, frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah’s path without knowledge, and to make it a mockery. For such is a humiliating punishment. |
C31 V2-5 | who are the doers of good | These are the verses of the Book of Wisdom – a guidiance and a mercy for the doers of good, who keep up prayer and give the due charity and who are certain of the Hereafter. These are on a guidance from their Lord, and these are they who are successful. |
C30 V58-59 | those who cannt see the signs of the Quran, their hearts are sealed | And certainly We have set forth for people in this Quran every kind of description. And if you bring them a sign, those who disbelieve would certainly say: You are only deceivers. Thus does Allah seal the hearts of those who do not know. |
C30 V55 | time in this dunya is very short for the guilty | And the day when the Hour comes, the guilty will swear: They did not remian but an hour. This are they ever turned away (from truth). |
C30 V54 | mention being a baby/child, adult, elder | Allah is He Who created you from a state of weakness, then He gave strength after weakness, then ordained weakness and grey hair after strength. He creates what He pleases, and He is the Knowing, the Powerful. |
C30 V52-53 | those who dont believe in the message are deaf, blind (dead) | So surely you cannot make the dead to hear, nor can you make the deaf t hear the call, when they turn back retreating. Nor can you guide the blind out of their error. You can make none to hear but those who believe in Our messages, so they submit. |
C30 V48-49 | Signs of Allah (SWT) in wind, cloud, rain (interpret in two ways) | Allah is He Who sends forth the winds, so they raise a cloud, then He spreads it forth in the sky as He pleases, and He breaks it, so that you see the rain coming forth from inside it; then when He causes it to fall upon whom He pleases of His servants, lo! they rejoice – though they were before this, before it was sent down upon them, in sure despair. |
C30 V47 | It is incumbent on Allah (SWT) to help believers | And certainly We sent before you messengers to their people, so they came to them with clear arguments, then We punished those who were guilty. And to help believers is ever incumbent on Us. |
C30 V46 | Signs of Allah (SWT) in the wind (interpret in two ways) [applies to airplanes?] | And of His signs is this, that He sends forth the winds bearing good news, and that He may make you taste of His mercy, and that the ships may glide by His commad, and that you may seek of His grace, and that you may be grateful. |
C30 V44-45 | disbelievers will be responsible for their disbelief | Who ever disbelieves will be responsible for his desbelief; and whoever does good, such prepare (good) for their own souls, that He may reward out of His grace those who believe and do good. Surely He does not love the disbelievers. |
C30 V43 | find the right religion before your death/day of judgement | Then set yourself to the right religion before the day comes from Allah which cannot be averted: on that day they will be separated. |
C30 V40 | is there any other god that does any of this? | Allah is He Who created you, then He sustains you, then He causes you to die, then brings you to life. Is there any of your associate-gods who does any of it? Glory be to Him, and supremly exalted is He above what they setup as partners (with Him)! |
C30 V39 | charity inceases wealth not usuary/interest | And whatever you lay out at usuary, so that it may increase through the property of (other) people, it does not increase with Allah; and whatever you give in charity, desiring Allah’s pleasure, these will get manifold. |
C30 V38 | who to give charity to and its reward | So give to the near of kin his due, and to the needy and the traveller. This is best for those who desire Allah’s pleasure, and these it is who are successful. |
C30 V36-37 | when mercy comes and goes | And when We make people taste of mercy they rejoice in it, and if an evil befall them for wha ttheir hands have already done, lo! they despair. Do they not see that Allah amplifies provision for whom He pleases, and restricts (it also)? Certainly there are signs in this for a people who believe. |
C30 V35 | points out no prophets were sent that preached of any other god | Or, have We sent to them an authority so that it speaks of what they set up as partners with Him? |
C30 V33-34 | when affliction comes and goes | And when harm afflicts people, they call upon their Lord, turning to Him, then when He makes them taste of mercy from Him, lo! some of them begin to set up partners with their Lord, so as to be ungrateful for what We have given them. So enjoy yourselves a while- you will soon ceom to know. |
C30 V30-32 | Allah (SWT) created mankind to be religious and to follow His commands | So set yourself for religion, being upright, the nature made by Allah in which He has created mankind. There is no altering Allah’s creation. That is the right religion – but most people do not know – turning to Him; and keep your duty to Him, and keep up prayer and do not be of those who set up partners (with Allah), of those who split up their religion and become sects; each faction rejoicing in what it has. |
C30 V29 | unjust people are misguided and without knowledge | But those who are unjust follow their low desires without any knowledge; so who can guide him whom Allah leaves in error? And they shall have no helpers. |
C30 V26-27 | everything in the heavens and earth is Allah’s (SWT) and He is the most exalted | And His is whosoever is in the heavens and the earth. All are obedient to Him. And He it is Who originates the creation, then reproduces it, and it is very easy to Him. And His is the most exalted state in the heavens and the earth; and He is the Mighty, the Wise. |
C30 V25 | Signs of Allah (SWT) in how the heaven and earth continue to function | And of His signs is this, that the heaven and earth subsist by His command. Then when He calls you, from the earth, you come forth. |
C30 V24 | Signs of Allah (SWT) in weather/nature | And of His signs is this, that He shows you the lightning for fear and for hope, and sends down water from the cloud, then gives life with it to the earth after its death. Surely there are signs in this for a people who understand. |
C30 V23 | Signs of Allah (SWT) in sleep and in the day | And of His signs is your sleep by night and by day and your seeking of His bounty. Surely there are signs in this for a people who would hear. |
C30 V22 | Signs of Allah (SWT) in the diversity of people | And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your tongues and colours. Surely there are signs in this for the learned. |
C30 V20-21 | Signs of Allah (SWT) in yourself and in your marriage | And of His signs is this, that He created you from dust, then lo! you are mortals who disperse. And of His signs is this, that He created mates for you from yourselves that you might find quiet of mind in them, and He put between you love and compassion. Surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect. |
C30 V19 | Allah (SWT) is the master of life and death | He brigss forth the living from the dead and brings forth the dead from the living, and gives life to the earth after its death. And this will you be brought forth. |
C30 V17-18 | when to glorify/pray to Allah (SWT) | So glory be to Allah when you enter the evenign adn when you enter the morning. And to Him be praise in the ehavens and the earth. and in the afternoon, and when the sun declines. |
C30 V15-16 | two groups on the day when the Hour comes | Then as to those who believed and did good, they will be made happy in a garden. And as for those who disbelieved and rejected Our messages and the meeting of the Hereafter, they will be brought to punishment. |
C30 V12-14 | the day when the Hour comes | And the day when the Hour comes, the guilty will despair. And they will have no intercessors from among their associate-gods, and they will deny their associate-gods. And the day when the Hour comes, that day they will be separated, on from the other. |
C30 V11 | Allah (SWT) originates creation and then reproduces it | Allah originates the creation, then reproduces it, then to Him you will be returned |
C30 V7-8 | most people are heedless of the Hereafter | They know the outward of this world’s life, but of the Hereafter they are heedless. Do they not reflect within themselves? Allah did not create the ehavens and the earth and all that is between them but with truth, and (for) and appointed term. And surely most of the people are deniers of the meeting with their Lord. |
C30 V4-6 | Allah (SWT) keeps his promises | …Allah’s is the command before and after. And on that day the believers will rejoice in Allah’s help. He helps whom He pleases and He is the Mighty, the Merciful – (is is) Allah’s promise! Allah will not fail in His promise, but most people do not know. |
C29 V69 | one must strive hard for the favor of Allah (SWT) for guidance | And those who strive hard for Us, We shall certainly guide them in Our ways. And Allah is surely with the doers of good. |
C29 V64 | this world’s life is idle play (death) | And this world’s life is but an idle sport and play. And the home of the Hereafter, that surely is the Life, if only they knew! |
C29 V62 | why some people are rich and others poor | Allah amplifies provision for whom He pleases of His servants, and restricts (it) for him (also). Surely Allah is Knower of all things. |
C29 V56-57 | go where you can serve Allah (SWT) only | O My servants who believe, surely My eath is vast, so serve Me only. Every soul must taste of death; then to Us you will be returned. |
C29 V53-55 | punishment will come to disbeliervers at the fixed time | And they ask you to hasten on the punishment. And if a time had not been fixed, the punishment would certainly have come to them. And certainly it will come to them all of a suddent, while they do not perceive. They ask you to hasten on the punishment, and surely hell encompasses the disbelievers – The day when the punishment will cover them from above them, and from beneath there feet! He will say: Taste what you did. |
C29 V50-51 | there is mercy in the Quran and it is a reminder for believers | And they say: Why are not signs sent down upon him from his Lord? Say: Signs are with Allah only, and I am only a plain warner. Is it not enough for them that We have revealed to you the Book which is recited to them> Surely ther eis mercy in this and a reminder for a people who believe. |
C29 V48-49 | states Muhammad (SAW) could not read or write | And you did not recite before it any book, nor did you transcribe one with your right hand, for then could the liars have doubted. Rather, it is clear messages in the heart of those who are granted knowledge. And none deny Our messages except the wrong doers. |
C29 V46 | what to say to the People of the Book | And do not argue with the People of the Book except what is best, save such of them as act unjustly. But say: We believe in what has been revealed to us and revealed to you, and your God and your God is One, and to Him we submit. |
C29 V45 | important of pratyer and rememberance of Allah (SWT) | Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and keep up prayer.Surely prayer keeps (one) away from indecency and evil; and certainly the remembrance of Allah is the greatest (force). And Allah knows what you do. |
C29 V44 | heavens and earth are signs | All created the heavens and the earth with truth. Surely there is a sign in this for the believers. |
C29 V43 | parables needs to be understood with knowledge | And these parables, We set them forth for people, and none understand them but the learned. |
C29 V36-40 | mention of many prophets and their nation and the punishment of their people | see verses – …And it was not Allah, Who wronged them, but they wronged themselves. |
C29 V31-35 | when angels came to Ibrahim (AS) and Lut (AS) | see verses |
C29 V23-30 | mention of Ibrahim (AS) and Lut (AS) – their struggle with their people | see verses |
C29 V21-22 | Allah (SWT) punishes and has mercy on who he pleases, no escape from it | He punishes whom He pleases and has mercy on whom He pleases, and to Him you will be turned back. And you cannot escape in the earth nor in the heaven, and you have no protector or helper besides Allah. |
C29 V18 | nations before rejected the message/truth | And if you reject, nations before you did indeed reject (the Truth). And the duty of the Messenger is only to deliver the message clearly. |
C29 V14-17 | mention of Nuh (AS) and Ibrahim (AS) | see verses |
C29 V12-13 | No one will bear the burden of other, they’ll bear the burden of misleading others | And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Follow our path and we will bear your wrongs. And they can never bear any of their wrongs at all. Surely they are liars. And they will certainly bear their own burdens, and other burdens besides their own burdens; and they will certainly be questioned on the day of Resurrection as to what they forged. |
C29 V10-11 | believers who think persecution if form Allah (SWT) | And among people is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted for the sake of Allah, he thinks the persectuion of people to be as the punishment of Allah. And if help comes from your Lord, they will say: Surely we were with you. Is not Allah the Best Knower of what is in the hearts of mankind? And certainly Allah will know who believe, and He will know the hypocrites. |
C29 V8 | when not to obey your parents | And We have enjoined on man goodness to his parents. But if they strive to make you set up partners with Me, of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. |
C29 V7 | afflictions taken away for those who believe and do good | And those who believe and do good, We shall certainly do away with their afflictions and reward them for the best of what they did. |
C29 V6 | Allah (SWT) does not need anything | And whoever stives hard, strives for himself. Surely Allah is above need of (His) creatures. |
C29 V4-5 | evildoers will not escape justice (why there must be a Day of Judgement) | Or do they who work evil think they will escape Us? Evil is it wha they judge! |
C28 V88 | everything will perish but Allah (SWT) | And do not call with Allah any other god. There is no God but He. Everything will perish but He. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be brought back |
C28 V84 | good rewarded with better, evil recompensed for it | Whoever brings good, he will have better than it; and whoever brings evil, those who do evil will be recompensed only for what they did |
C28 V83 | who gets Jannah | That above of the Hereafter, We assign it to those who have no desire to exalt themselves in the earth nor to make mischeif. And the good end is for those who keep their duty. |

The day you see it, every woman giving suck will forget her suckling and every pregnant one will lay down her burden, and you will see people as drunken, yet they will not be drunken, but the punishment of Allah will be severe |
